Register Now for Super Charged Summer Sessions!
Registration opens Monday, May 12th for the Summer Quarter. Chapel time during this week will offer returning students the opportunity to speak with an advisor and register early, before the Open House-Registration Rally on Saturday, May 17th. Choose from more than a dozen classes – day or evening – that will bring you ever closer to your academic goals. Classes will begin Monday June 16, 2008 and run through Thursday, July 10. Those offered include: “Foundations of Education,” “Body by Design,” “New Testament Survey,” “Minor Prophets,” “Cross-Cultural Ministry,” “Hebrew History: Wanderings,” “Doctrine 2A: Holy Spirit & Angels” and “Doctrine 1B: Christology.”
In addition, we have two classes that are being offered on unique time-lines. “Music Theory IV” will begin Monday morning, June 16 and run for the entire week, concluding on Friday, June 20, 2008. This class has pre-requisites and must have the pre-approval of the instructor. Then “History of Christian Fine Arts” will be offered as a Tuesday/Thursday morning class and will begin one week later on Tuesday June 24 with the final on Thursday, July 17. The fine arts class can be taken to fulfill either: Social Science, Humanities or elective requirements.
Here is some basic information you need to know about the summer session. Only 2-unit classes are being offered. The classes will meet two days per week [with the exception of Music Theory]. It is recommended to purchase and read all textbooks before the first class session. After starting the first day of class, you may not drop the class without a notation on your transcript, and there will be no refunds once the session begins. Super Charged Summer Sessions must be paid for in advance unless you have grants and/or loans.

Feedback from Priscilla's "Art of Listening" series:
Dear Editor,
I just finished reading the series on “The Art of Listening,” by Priscilla Marshall. Her approach was right on target! I previously had a similar experience when I was pouring out my soul to my best friend about some exciting news. After I had shared with her, I really wondered if she had been listening.
I personally believe that love is the greatest commandment. When someone feels listened to, they feel love in return. As Christians, we must love our friends as well as our enemies. Her details and research information were extremely helpful. I especially like the example she gave about the tips from Jennifer Hoffman about fostering active listening skills. It was interesting to think about these tips as they apply to my everyday life.
I feel very strongly about the advice she gave before one opens up a conversation: pray first. From a reader’s perspective, I believe in praying before you do anything. This important piece of information has really helped me open up many conversations. It definitely helps to allow God to intercede where He needs to and allow Him to be a part of the conversation.
Much of this information is beneficial in helping others to feel the love of Christ. Thank you for the wonderful insight provided by this series “The Art of Listening.” It has been extremely helpful in re-training me to be actively listening to those that I love.
Sincerely, Paulina Quesada
