Union Gospel Mission Outreach
Dear TLBC Family,
The Union Gospel Mission is a place where the homeless of Sacramento can go get a meal and a bed every night of the week. Not only do they provide food and shelter but an opportunity to get their life together through a Christ-centered drug and alcohol recovery program.
The 24 bed program is the mechanics of how the Union Gospel Mission functions. The program men are who run the mission during the day. Each man holds a job that serves the transient population. The clothes closet, the shower room, the mail room, the kitchen crew and food server positions are all held by a man in the 10 month drug program. In the evenings, security, bed distributor and ushers in chapel rely on a man from the program.
On April 18th, 2008 Trinity Life Bible College students and staff vowed to make a difference in the homeless population and disciple program men toward a permanent change by putting God first, giving rather then taking, doing good works and establishing a goal to be free.
Every third Friday of each month TLBC we will go peach the gospel and make disciples of men who will in turn share their testimony as to what the Lord has done in their life. Our next outreach will be May 16th. If God is speaking to your heart and you want to be involved contact the TLBC office or Ron Smith at 613-3177.
God Bless
Ron Smith, ASB President
